            Bug ID: 997
Summary: FIJI keeps crashing after using Image>>Duplicate....
                    command
           Product: Fiji
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: Macintosh
                OS: Mac OS
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P5
         Component: ImageJ2
          Assignee: imagej-bugs at imagej.net
          Reporter: girish.iiser at gmail.com

Hi,

I have encountered this bug since long time. Recently, it became extremely
frequent. So, maybe has something to do with latest version of FIJI (I am not
sure, just throwing around ideas).

So, the problem is that FIJI crashes after using Image>>Duplicate... command.
The crash is not always instantaneous. It can take anything from less than a
second to 3-4 seconds for the App to crash. Initially, I though this has
something to do with duplicating large files but Now I am seeing it even with
small files and small duplications. Typically, I would have a hyperstack with
time and z and would try to duplicate all z-slices of a particular time point.
After this, FIJI crashes. On rare occasions, I get to save the duplicated file,
followed by the crash.

Alternatively, I tried to perform the "duplication" using
Image>>Stacks>>Tools>>make substack.... command. This command works just fine,
produces same result and FIJI doesn't crash.

I hope that helps. I can try to reproduce the crash and can copy the crash
report if necessary. I have already tried sending this report through MaxOS
channels.

Regards,
Girish
