Hi Chris,

The jhdf5 library is developed by Bernd Rinn from ETH SIS (ETH Scientific IT
Services). My HDF5 plugin just uses that library and Bernd was so kind to add
some functionality needed for images (e.g. unsigned data types) to his library.
I don't know, wether he has time and capacity to mavenize his library, but I
guess there will be not frequent updates -- So a one-time one-time deployment
would be possibly the best way.
I will ask him, what he thinks,
