I am unable to reproduce this problem using a 1GB, 16-bit tiff stack
(1024x1024x512), on either ImageJ or Fiji. Using the Memory Monitor, I see that
memory usage peaks at 1300MB, drops to 544MB when I click a few times in the
"Memory" window, and then drops to 32MB after I close the stack and click a few
more times. There is a relatively small (~25MB) memory leak probably caused by
memory used by Jython not being reclaimed.
