When toying with ImageJ macro's messagebox, based on a hint from Herbie...  I
noticed that the HTML tag only works if it's lower case.
Here's an ImageJ macro showing the difference:

msgTitle = "My Title";
msgHTML = "<HTML><BODY>This is <B>my message<\B>.<\BODY><\HTML>";
showMessage(msgTitle, msgHTML);
msgHTML = replace(msgHTML, "HTML","html");
showMessage(msgTitle, msgHTML);
