I revisited this issue after another user mailed about it on the ImageJ list.

I noticed you have the OpenSPIM update site enabled. It looks like that update
site silently enables micro-manager-dev (as OpenSPIM uses micromanager).
Unfortunately there is no other indication that the two are tied together and
attempting to disable micromanager-dev produces the behavior you observed
(which is somewhat reasonable given that you still have OpenSPIM enabled, which
still requires micromanager).

However, when I tried uninstalling both update sites simultaneously I got an
error message. I believe you need to:

1. Uninstall OpenSPIM and restart Fiji.
2. Uninstall micro-manager-dev and restart Fiji.

This is certainly terrible and confusing. In the short term, it's up to the
OpenSPIM team to decide if the update site behavior will change[1]. In the long
term, we need a more robust update site mechanic which can properly express
dependencies[2].
