The fact that a numerical suffix is still used after all images are closed, is
a bug, though. Probably the same bug as:
http://fiji.sc/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=774

Johannes, are you sure we don't want to support the single instance feature in
some way? I think it is useful to a lot of people. We could file a GitHub issue
for it...
