Import HB603 Image By Dennis C. Winkler dcw4@lehigh.edu Materials Science and Engineering Department Lehigh University August/September 1996 Imports an HB603 *.IMG image file along with the microscope information. Produces a graphics window containing the image and microscope information and a text window containing the microscope information, image size, and file path. Instructions Run NIH Image Double click on the NIH Image Icon to run NIH Image. Load the Macro Under the "Special" pull down menu, select "Load Macros...". Locate the "Import HB603 Image" macro and open it. Run the Macro Under the "Special" pull down menu, select "Import HB603 Image". Locate the image file to be imported and open it. Results The foreground window contains the microscope information and the imported image. Use "Save As..." under the "File" menu to save the image in the desired format. Behind this is a text window which contains the microscope information, image size, and path of the original file. Hints For larger images, increase the memory allotted to NIH Image (using "Get Info" in the Finder) and increase the "Undo & Clipboard Buffer Size" to something a little larger than the size of the image file (select "Preferences..." under the "Options" pull down menu in NIH Image). Increasing these also speeds up processing. Errors If the image is larger than the "Undo & Clipboard Buffer Size", the macro will end in an error. If they are closed in size, you may get a message stating that the operation can't be undone, but the macro may finish without an error. To avoid these situations, increase the "Undo & Clipboard Buffer Size" as stated above. Please report any other errors or general strangeness. Thank you.
